Result. The day was sunny but cold. Only the last two Novelty classes took place in a shower of rain. Many thanks to all the greyhound and lurcher owners as well as other breeds who joined in and special appreciation to our Judges Judy and Jeni. Plus the hard working Ring Stewards Sandra and Liz. Irene toiled all day in the kitchen while husband Den looked after the Bouncy Castle.

An Akita called Keiko won Best in Show. Best Novelty was an Ibizan Hound belonging to Hope Rescue Volunteers.

  Result. Lovely day on Monday 29th May. Very well attended. Nearly £500.00 raised for

  All Saints. Greyhound Welfare Stall took just over £35.00. Hope Rescue and Four

  Paws Animal Rescue also on site. Photos being organised.

 

June 2006

10 Crickhowell Dog Show. Sat 10 June.

  Result. Gloriously sunny day with a light breeze and record crowds. Pleasing number of

  sight hounds with the stall holders and visitors and amongst the class winners

  Message from Organiser Liz.

  Made £3,400 profit from the show so a great success but need to keep

  the momentum up and the project has cost 400,000 and will cost about £5000 per

  annum upkeep when finsihed. Open Day planned. Thanks for support. Lizx

25 Open Day. RSPCA, Newport 11am - 5pm. Tel. the Shelter 01633 412049 for details

  Result. Happy sunny day at the RSPCA's Newport Shelter. The Dog Show was well

  supported. The Greyhound Stall achieved £61.48 plus a request for a home visit.

  Well done to the Centre Staff. Nice to see so many happy re-homed dogs returning

  for a day out with their families.

July 2006

1 Machen Agriculteral Show. Pedigree Dog Show. Lurcher and Terrier Show

  Saturday. Contact. Peter Collins 02920216395

  Result. Very hot day with water much in demand. Record crowds and comments

  about the number of greyhound/lurcher type dogs on site. Greyhound Stall took

  £64.72. Exhausted organisers should be well pleased with the day.

8  All Creatures Great and Small Open Day at the Farm in Llanfrechfa

  Saturday 8th.  Result. Warm, dry day at All Creatures Great and Small Open Day

  Obedience display was well received and the Fun Dog Show very popular. On the main field attractions included singers Steve and Mike who'll be joining us at Rogerstone Village

  Festival. Always willing to consider a "booking" for Charity Events. Tel. 01633 669980

  Greyhound Stall took £58.42 and Torfaen Wardens micro chipped nearly 50 dogs.

  Cat's Protection and Guide Dogs were kept very busy. Well done to all staff and supporters.

10 Companion Dog Show held by Hope Rescue at All Saints Church

  Result. Well supported in spite of the awful weather outside: with a rescued greyhound (fawn & white) from Weston Super Mare ultimately winning Best in Show. GW stall raised around £30.00 and Hope Rescue received over £500.00 to help with their work. Their next Dog Show will be held in Nelson. Date will be posted asap. Coming website www.hoperescue.or.uk. Well done everyone.
